tan•ist: (N) The Heir Apparent
Scotland is a land steeped in tradition, where nothing is more important than carrying on
the family legacy. For generations, the one entrusted, the Tanist, has endured by striking out
on new paths, taking risks, and seeking an unknown future. In the 1870’s, AJ Bogle headed
to the new fontier of California. What he found was an untamed land of agricultural wealth,
a place that reflected the indomitable spirit of our forefathers, and a future that lives on,
held fast today by the next generation of the Tanist.
